Telecommunications Engineering Technician assists telecommunication engineers in the design and analysis of telecommunication networks. Creates plans and drawings detailing the layout of routers, circuits, cables, switches, or other telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Engineering Technician ensures network connectivity for end-users. May evaluate existing networks and recommend design changes to improve performance. Additionally, Telecommunications Engineering Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Telecommunications Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in tele/data communication industry including hardware installations, and test equipment operation.
Other: Good organizational, time management, and communication skills. Strong ability to troubleshoot telephone, fax, paging, and data communications systems.
Preferred Education/Experience: Associates Degree.
