Being a Telecommunications Engineering Technician ensures network connectivity for end-users. May evaluate existing networks and recommend design changes to improve performance. STARTING BI-WEEKLY SALARY: $1,805 - $2,168 Grade 9 Non-Exempt

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: With minimal supervision, the individual filling this position will provide technical
work for subdivision construction, commercial projects, and City projects; this work includes but is not limited to: field
inspections, documenting project progression and completion; must be capable of working independently; be able to perform
onsite inspections; utilize office software to document and track projects and building permits; and be able to read and analyze
asphalt testing reports, lab reports, inspection reports, etc., ensuring conformance to City standards and specifications. The
position includes a combination of office and field-related duties.

• Communicate and coordinate work with internal and external customers to ensure a high level of cooperation, teamwork,
application and construction process.
QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma; valid driver’s license; two years of work experience in either inspection,
construction, testing; or any equivalent combination of technical experience or related skills which provides the knowledge and
abilities necessary to perform the work; must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate complex technical
information, orally and in writing; must have computer and software skills; must be able to work independently and have the
ability to make decisions using common sense; must be detail oriented; must be able to establish good working relationships
and have excellent customer service skills; must demonstrate the City core values of Integrity, Honesty, Teamwork,
Commitment and Connection.
The following are preferred but not required: A two (2) year college degree in Engineering or a related technical field, Western
Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction (WAQTC) Asphalt 1 certification.
