POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The primary purpose of the Construction Manager I is to provide project support and be responsible for field visits, site inspection, documentation, and communication of their findings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Field Assignments/Procedures:
- Responsible for site construction support, which may include supervising the installation of towers, mounts, antennas, feed lines, electronic cabinets, shelters, generators, HVAC, utilities, etc.
- Closely adheres to all safety standards and procedures.
- Identifies gaps in safety standards as well as safety risks in the environment and provides recommendations to higher level technical staff and management.
- Supports the tracking of all project and A&E activities for the team in SiteTracker or other project tracking system.
- Reviews and understands project drawings and specifications.
- Assists client with equipment orders, managing warehouse inventory, and return of used/unused site equipment.
- Performs a feasibility walk to determine whether the proposed site may be properly constructed according to quality and technical standards.
- Reviews punch list for overall construction completion and management of contractors.
- Ensure that the construction contractors obtain all proper inspections, final sign-offs, recorded easements, etc. for a timely close out package.
- Finalize and present a complete closeout package.
- Prepares and updates site status reports, databases, and project forecast reports.
- Ensure that work conforms to Company standards and Quality Plan.
- Understand client objectives/quality standards and ensure work is completed in accordance with these standards.
Project Schedules/Deliverables:
- Under supervision of your Manager, submit bid documents to approved general contractors and coordinate all aspects of the bid process, including scheduling the bid walk, review of bids, production of a bid package, and contractor recommendation.
- Assist the Manager in developing and monitoring the construction schedule for each site; this includes permitting, materials availability, contractor availability, utility provisioning, cost efficiency, property owner availability, and any other variables.
- Complete assignments in the specific time periods requested while ensuring accuracy, completeness, quality, and thoroughness of results.
- Meet or exceed company standards for productivity/utilization targets.
Continuous Improvement:
- Provide input and assistance in investigating new techniques and methods that may increase the Company’s efficiency.
- Incorporate cutting edge applications to arrive at the desired result on projects.
- Alert supervisor of any issues that may affect client relations. Provide recommendations for solutions.
- When opportunities arise, assist with the development of new business opportunities with clients.
- Willingness to support additional projects with the same client.
COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
- Able to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels and ability to respectfully follow supervision.
- Able to effectively communicate with peers, managers, contractors, and client.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office suite; Database, customer tracking systems experience a plus.
- Must have reliable transportation and being willing to travel to sites/work remotely.
- Driving record must meet Advantage Engineers insurance standards and maintain a valid state Driver’s License.
- OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 is a plus.
- CPR/First Aid is a plus.
- Knowledge in a Technical Trade, Maintenance, Electrical, or Instrumentation is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills are highly desired.
- Ability to create detailed and concise reports and tracking tools for all aspects of the project is a plus.
