Telecommunications Manager jobs in Schenectady, NY
Telecommunications Manager manages an organization's telecommunication systems to ensure optimal network performance. Implements and enforces policies and procedures for installing and maintaining telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Manager plans and manages complex installation or repair projects. Assesses current and future telecommunications needs and researches and plans improvements to meet those requirements. Additionally, Telecommunications Manager trains and develops staff. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Telecommunications Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Telecommunications Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Project Manager will work on water supply/distribution, water quality and wastewater collection/treatment projects. Responsibilities
- Plan and design medium to large scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Assist with oversight and guidance of projects from initial concept through construction
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals
- Collaborate, mentor and lead as appropriate
- Prepare preliminary engineering reports.
- Perform and review detailed hydraulic calculations.
- Produce effective and high-quality project documents (including reports, drawings, and specifications)
- Assist clients with construction procurement
- Assist with water and wastewater operations and research, hydraulic/process modeling, environmental review, permitting, and project financing
- Provide bidding and construction administration services.
