Telecommunications Supervisor oversees a team of specialists to support the maintenance of an organization's telecommunications system. Coordinates the installation and repairs of telecommunication equipment. Being a Telecommunications Supervisor manages and delegates work orders and assignments. Helps solve and troubleshoot complex issues to mitigate the impact on the performance of the network. Additionally, Telecommunications Supervisor identifies and implements process improvements and leads the implementation of new technologies. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. We are currently seeking able-bodied, reliable, skilled, highly motivated, and trustworthy individuals for full time Horizontal Directional Driller or Horizontal Direction Driller/Foreman.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Operate Horizontal Directional Drill (as an Operator or Locator) for installation of underground telecommunications cable conduit, including fiber optic cable
· Read and understand existing underground facility locates
· Identify and locate unmarked utilities
· Digging trenches, pull wire, install ground boxes and installing conduit
· Operate mini-excavator
· Operates various tools for the work (various manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come a long, jack hammer and hand line etc.)
· Direct traffic
· Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards
· Load and unload materials
· Follow construction plans and instructions from crew leaders or more experienced workers
· Must communicate daily progress status to supervisor
· Communicate effectively with management
· Perform quality work within deadlines with or without supervision
· Perform all duties as assigned and in a safe manner
Additional Duties if Driller is also a Crew Foreman
· Provide Strong Leadership and Guidance for the crew
· Supervises and reports daily production, maintains documentation, and ensure proper paper flow to office staff
· Supervise the crew for timely completion of jobs
· Ensure the crew has proper materials, supplies, tools and equipment necessary to complete work
· Demonstrated ability to keep crews on schedule
· Knowledge of CDL Requirements
· Knowledge of Safety Requirements and Traffic Control
· Knowledge of equipment and vehicles being used by crew
· Ability to follow company process and direction from upper management
· Ensures safety practices are observed by all crew members
· Experience communicating and working with city inspectors
· Report any incident/accident reports in a timely manner
Qualifications
· 5 years experience with underground utility construction
· Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License with clean driving record
· CDL License a plus
· Must be able to travel
· Mechanic ability a plus
· Must have broad knowledge of outside plant
· Excellent oral, written and communication skills
· Comply with all Foremost and OSHA safety policies and guidelines
· Must be able to lift 80 pounds frequently
· Must have endurance
· Must be a team player
· Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies, including holidays, weekends, subject to call out work. etc.
· Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions
· Ability to work occasional to frequent overtime depending on project or business need
· Must be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and random drug screens

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
