Requires a bachelor's degree of Engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Test Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     In this role, you will

    • Perform hardware validation testing and verification of LiDAR, Radar, and Camera
    • Work cross functionally with Test, ME, SW, Embedded to develop advanced test strategies for field testing and calibration of sensors.
    • Develop test strategies to support Product Design Validation under high environmental stress (temperature, shock, vibe)
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software development teams, to ensure products meet requirements
    • Design and develop hardware drivers to seamlessly integrate and interface with test and measurement equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and debug hardware issues.
    • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Help develop and maintain test fixtures and equipment.
    • Author technical documentation for interfacing with test hw/sw solutions.
    • Analyze test results, identify issues, create test reports and work with the development team to resolve them.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience with Python, C and Linux required.
    • Experience with developing software for hardware interfaces (for eg. device drivers for hardware under test, test and measurement equipment)
    • Hands-on experience working with and debugging complex hardware and software systems
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.

    Desirable Qualifications 

    • Experience with reliability testing and/or automotive testing.
    • Familiarity with standard test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, thermal chambers, translational, rotational stages and vibe tables.
    • Experience working with environmental measurement and sensing devices.
    • Experience with handling large data sets and writing scripts to post-process test data
    • Experience in hardware testing and some automation, including experience with photonics, embedded systems, digital and analog circuitry, and firmware.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    The base salary range for this position is $116,000.00-$173,000.00 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
