Requires a bachelor's degree of Engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Test Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Requirements:
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
1 to 5 years of test engineering experience in structural strength and/or durability
Responsibilities:
Apply engineering principles and various analysis tools to develop test plans/procedures for design parts/components
Determine design feasibility and ensure parts/components meet design acceptance criteria, performance level targets, and any applicable regulatory/internal standards
Create data settings, test specifications/standards, prepare/setup test equipment, conduct moderately complex tests
Document/summarize test results/conclusions, verifying testing accuracy/thoroughness
Analyze/interpret test results, predict performance/failure and provide required product/design data
Identify issues/develop countermeasures based on the analysis of testing results
Communicate test results clearly in written reports/formal presentations
Propose design changes and recommend countermeasures based on analysis of testing results.
