Acts as advisor to test engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations and acts as a liaison to other engineering functions. Being a Test Engineering Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Test Engineering Manager typically reports to a unit/department head. The Test Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. This person would be responsible for:
·Overseeing and providing direction for all technical areas including customer application development, tooling, maintenance, and product/process development.
·Ensuring correct and timely new product launches.
·Developing the necessary technical personnel to support current and potential business.
·Directing engineering projects and supervising the engineering and maintenance staff.
·Ensuring the conformance with organizational objectives.
·Driving continuous improvement.
·Assisting in customer visits, meetings, and presentations.
·Serving on the OE Leadership and Steering Committee as well as the Management Review Team.
·Taking part in the development of the company’s annual budget and strategic business plan.
·Assisting with Advance Process Quality Planning (APQP) meetings for new parts.
·raveling as required.
