  • Position Summary

    The Manager of Data Analytics & Business Technology role is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes.  This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. 

    The Manager of Data Analytics & Business Technology is responsible for generating and compiling reports based on their findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues.  This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
    • Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
    • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
    • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization.
    • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
    • Create system design proposals.
    • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
    • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
    • Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions.
    • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
    • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
    • Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
    • Provide guidance and/or instruction to junior staff members.
    • Develop system processes based on what we are trying to operationalize > backend system setup > write the technical procedures for staff > create reporting to track progress
    • System Administration and user support (Daxko Operations, Mobile and Engage, Microix, Abila, Nationwide Membership)
    • Backend setup in systems, i.e. discount groups, adjustments, agreements, online settings, in Operations, group and initiatives in Engage
    • Build SQL reports in Daxko Operations (Custom Reports). Many of these are user run reports that focus on various areas (Membership, Programs, Child Care, Camp, Finance, Fund Development)
    • Manage Microix workflows
    • Produce reports (monthly, bi-weekly, and weekly) that key on various areas, membership, Finance, Fund Development, etc.
    • Lead annual projects: Budget, Facility Fee, YUSA annual report
    • Support YUSA Link & MOYP (these were exclusively assigned to HR previously)
    • Budget: produce historical reports as supporting data for branches and association office departments, write/ update instructions for Microix worksheets and budget spreadsheets, write budget guide/ instructions including timeline, work with key staff to produce major budget assumptions, create Microix worksheets and excel spreadsheet templates (generic revenue & expense, camp, OST and membership), deliver training on systems and resources, user support (systems and financial questions), create global spreads in Microix, lead budget reviews with branches throughout the process, produce reports to guide all meetings including comparisons from previous budgets and current year trends, reports for Finance/ Executive Committee and BOD meetings, audit budget amounts and spreads, finalize budget in Microix, upload to Abila, and update Microix POs module to reflect new budget year.
    • Ad hoc projects: rate increases, move to new bank- rec file in Abila, HR system migration (data extracts), membership migrations (move from 12 types to 4), decommissioning a branch, fitness equipment refresh, etc..
    • Ad hoc reporting: Active Directory & Active Staff comparison for email usage, staff memberships (Daxko and CSC Paymaster data), revenue projections for rate increase, fund 20 reporting trends (actuals & budget), impact analysis on change in compensation for Active & Fit and Silver & Fit memberships, etc.
    • Annual Facility Fee: build custom list of membership types and discount groups for those units who are eligible for the facility fee, work with Daxko on the scripting to apply the fees and draft funds in both training site for testing and production environment, create/ update staff procedures, FAQs and list of eligible membership types and discount groups, work with branches to address members that need to establish a payment plan, provide list to branches of invoice units for mailing invoices and follow up through completion, create groups in Engage for messaging (1. those being charged the fee 2. those who won't be charged the fee but who may want to donate), audit the fee after it has been applied.
    • Write IT policies (email, BOYD, etc.)
    • Explore new technologies
    • Ad hoc writing for messaging membership; facility fee, rate increase, etc.
    • Daxko Operations system audits
    • Work with KSA Marketing in Meta Business, Facebook and GPY website
    • Research and if needed, work with partners to address any system issues, i.e. duplicate drafts, cards not processing, etc.
    • Evaluate and test new releases/ functionality in software then roll out to users
    • Ad hoc document queries (Marketing, Admin, HR, etc.)
    • Email searches
    • Windows password resets
    • Video search and recovery
    • Create accounts in Facility Dude  
    • CallTower phone system administration and user support (when theirs are is not available)

    Additional Requirements

    • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
    • Sitting for extended periods of time.
    • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard or mouse, and to handle other computer components.
    • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred in Business, Information Systems or related field desired
    • Understanding of business concepts and principles
    • Familiarity with Client Server technology and knowledge of LAN and WAN configurations
    • Microsoft Office, SQL, and Windows Operating systems knowledge and experience
    • Large scale project management experience
