    This position manages a small team of experienced professionals in the Main Cabin Seating Flammability Certification team. The role is responsible for executing flammability certification activities to support program milestones. Monitors project deliverables, schedules, and all flammability certification aspects of an engineering project and programs. Sets priorities, allocates tasks, identifies and reacts to complex project problems, and recommends solutions. Acts as a primary escalation contact with key stakeholders.

    This position does offer relocation.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Monitors project plans, schedules, and report progress for projects. Identifies, develops, and gathers necessary resources to ensure project completion.
    • Manages all flammability certification aspects of an engineering project and programs. Allocates resources, drives strategic planning, and assigns tasks to ensure business targets are met.
    • Directs the work of employees assigned on complex projects in technical report writing.
    • Conducts project meetings and prepares reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
    • Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and supervises project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
    • Identifies and reacts to complex project problems and recommends solutions, such as reallocating resources, and assisting resolution development.
    • Acts as a primary contact with key customers/stakeholders and develops professional relationships with customers/stakeholders to understand their needs to meet demands within the contracted scope.
    • Oversees and coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
    • Liaises between project management and planning, project teams, and line management.
    • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
    • Reviews project status, manages schedules and prepares reports.
    • Monitors and assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
    • Directs the work of employees assigned on projects in technical and administrative areas.

    Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Direct experience with development Designing and Certification of Aerospace Interiors Systems is preferred.
    • Direct experience with Aircraft Seating and related certifications.
    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

    The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
