Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Shop Supervisor to oversee our manufacturing shop floor. The Shop Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of machinists, ensuring efficient production and scheduling. This is a leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge and excellent organizational skills.

Duties:

• Responsible for being a leadership resource providing knowledge, training needs, status/scheduling updates, experience, motivation, support and advice.
• Share special industry techniques on how to use tools and equipment or tips on how to improve quality or speed of production
• Responsible for managing production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders
• Train and mentor machinists on proper manufacturing techniques and procedures
• Responsible for monitoring activities of machinists to meet customer delivery goals on a daily and weekly basis
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Estimator and Scheduling to provide resolution to any scheduling conflicts
• Perform quality checks in process and before quality to ensure products meet specifications
• Plans and communicates with CNC Programmers to organize and plan for all job tooling and fixturing to ensure effective job production
• Read blueprints and job orders to obtain product specifications (dimensions and tolerances) and adhere to all DPAS ratings and ITAR/Export requirements
• Implement and enforce safety protocols in the shop area·
• Responsible for managing scheduled maintenance on machinery, as well as communicating any needs to the maintenance department.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs
• Assists in the positioning and securing work pieces to holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers or fixtures

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Shop Supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing environment; Aerospace or tight tolerance machine shop is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of programming and logic controllers
• Mechanical knowledge and ability to operate CNC machines is preferred
• Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• G & M code programming and Mastercam preferred
• Must be self-directed and able to deliver under pressure, meeting customer and management deadlines
• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrate the ability to develop creative solutions to problems.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
