Kett Engineering is currently seeking a hardworking, detail oriented test driver for 1st and 2nd shift on behalf of a tier one automotive testing program based out of a test center in Bemidji, MN. All applicants must meet the minimum criteria below.
This is a project that is temproray and expected to run 18 weeks
Payrate: REG $ 15.00 hour and OT $27.50/hour. Position is part time as does NOT offer benefits.
Shifts: 1st shift: Monday - Saturday 6:00 am 2:00 pm.
2nd Shift: Monday - Saturday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
Project Duration: Driver must be available to start January 22nd 2024 and work until the first week of June 2024
Job Summary
The test driver will operate a pre-production vehicle on predominantly public roads while performing a full vehicle evaluation for each drive cycle. The test driver will be responsible for identifying any issues in relation to the powertrain and any other vehicle related items.
Job Responsibilities
Complete a pre-trip vehicle inspection at the start of each shift.
Drive the assigned schedule on designated routes for 8 hour shifts while performing test procedures.
Make sure that data recording devices are operating properly and troubleshoot with engineers via phone/apps/remote access as needed. Operate customer provided data acquisition/logging equipment (training provided).
Keep detailed daily drive sheet form and upload information to customer website daily as instructed..
Scan and report all check engine lights.
Keep vehicles clean and in good working order.
Operate vehicles in an extremely safe manner, obeying all laws of the road.
Maintain safety and security procedures. Keep office and garage bay clean and free of mess.
Must be comfortable driving in inclement weather.
Computer Skills Required
Computer proficiency in both software and hardware.
Able to download and utilize phone applications for communication as required.
Communicate with engineers over the phone, through customer apps, and by remote computer access to troubleshoot software issues if needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Possess a valid MN drivers license for a minimum of 4 years. Have no points, no major traffic citations, and/or accidents for the past three years. No DUI or DWAI convictions.
Able to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screening(marijuana included), read maps, and be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Computer proficiency as listed above.
Availability of 6 days per week Monday Saturday.
Ability to drive for prolonged periods of time.
Accurately communicate detailed findings verbally and legibly write detailed findings on reporting forms. (In English)

Complete required trainings.
