Testing Technician performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyzes results. Records data from testing in standard formats and provides results to product and engineering teams. Being a Testing Technician assists technical teams with recommendations to resolve testing problems, roadblocks or equipment malfunctions that impact the performance or validity of testing. Requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment. Additionally, Testing Technician typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Testing Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To facilitate the implementation of the state assessment program, including the coordination of training, materials, district-level support, and investigations. To ensure the security of state assessment materials and results. Collaborate with district staff and outside personnel to formulate, develop, implement, and evaluate assessment programs.
Essential Functions
1. Monitor state and federal regulations to state and federal assessment programs (e.g., STAAR, TAKS, TELPAS, NAEP, Benchmark/Mocks etc.).
2. Coordinate state and federal assessment programs including ordering materials, pre-registering students (when available), and managing distribution and collection of secure and non-secure testing materials.
3. Monitor additional Rater training required for specialized assessments (e.g., STAAR Alt 2, TELPAS) and determine process of certification record maintenance.
4. Collaborate with other departments in order to ensure the successful implementation of the state assessment program for specialized student groups (e.g., ELL, SPED, etc.) that may require accommodations, modifications, etc.
5. Maintain processes for state and federal testing irregularity and incident reporting that include investigations as warranted and/or directed by district, state, and federal officials.
6. Provide assistance to campus/district leadership to support data disaggregation and analysis associated with state and federal assessment programs.
7. Provide resources and materials to support campus/district staff in accomplishing student assessment goals, including use of quality tools, charts, surveys, quantitative/qualitative analysis, and research-based solutions for reports.
8. Obtain and use evaluating findings, including student performance date, to examine curriculum and instructional program effectiveness to improve student performance.
9. Consult with parents, administrators, counselors, teachers, community agencies and other relevant individuals regarding state and federal student assessment programs.
10. Schedule testing program at the campus to include room assignment and teacher training.
11. Coordinate reporting of test results.
12. Oversee all details of campus-wide testing days to include lunches, attendance, extended time, etc.
13. Work closely with campus administrative team and the campus counselor to coordinate all aspects of assigned testing programs.

Mental/Physical Demands
Bilingual in English and Spanish. Ability to handle multiple tasks while working under pressure; maintain emotional control under stress; frequent interruptions. Prolonged use of computer; repetitive hand motions. Stooping, bending, and kneeling; moderate lifting and carrying.
Bachelor’s degree (in the fields Education preferred), and a minimum of three (3) years successful experience with state assessment programs at the campus/district level.
Evaluation Process
