Testing Technician jobs in Lynchburg, VA

We are seeking self-starters for an opportunity as a Materials Testing Technician in our Lynchburg Geotechnical division. As an integral part of our Geotechnical and Materials Testing work, this full-time position will perform the following:

• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Maintain, calibrate and operate test apparatus and other geotechnical equipment.
• Draft thorough and concise observations of relevant test information.
• Perform soil density testing according to ASTM standards.
• Conduct field testing of concrete and prepare and transport specimens of concrete according to ASTM and ACI standards.
  
• Perform field testing of asphalt per ASTM and VDOT standards.
• Secure samples of concrete/asphalt materials using standard equipment.

The ideal candidate for this position will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, have a valid Driver's license, possess a good working knowledge of OSHA regulations and a commitment to workplace safety, and have a high school diploma. This work involves travel, and may also involve working in inclement weather.
