AET has an opening for a Field Technician 1 in our Duluth MN office. The Field Technician 1 will conduct field and laboratory testing on soil and materials used in construction projects. Field Technicians help to ensure that projects in your community meet safety and quality standards and are built to last. We’re able to provide training and will help you obtain ACI Concrete and MNDOT / WisDOT certifications (like Aggregate, Grading & Base, Bituminous, Concrete Field, and Nuclear Density) if you don’t already have them. Candidates should be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and be comfortable lifting, using, and maintaining testing equipment.

IN THIS JOB, YOU WILL:

Perform field testing of concrete, soils, asphalt, aggregate, or masonry products.

Become proficient in and perform tests such as gradations, Proctors, Nuclear Density Gauge, concrete slump, and asphalt gyratory compaction

Perform excavation observations

Report test results and communicate updates to project managers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

HS diploma or equivalent required

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

Frequently lift 30-60 pounds from the floor to 2 feet; Stand/move for up to 8 hours.

Willingness to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
