Testing Technician, Sr. performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyzes results. Records data from testing in standard formats and provides results to product and engineering teams. Being a Testing Technician, Sr. assists technical teams with recommendations to resolve testing problems, roadblocks or equipment malfunctions that impact the performance or validity of testing. May recommend changes in testing methods or equipment changes. Additionally, Testing Technician, Sr. requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Testing Technician, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Job Summary:
Persons filling this position are responsible for performance of all aspects of automated disease testing in the Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT) and Serology of the laboratory, following current Good Manufacturing. Must be able to recognize problems, troubleshooting, seek assistance including calling vendors technical help line, when necessary. Position requires following all SOP’s, reagent inventory management, and accurate documentation. OSHA blood exposure classification I.

Requirements
Knowledge, skills and abilities needed to be successful in this position:
Must vaccinated for COVID-19 (booster not required)
Two-year college degree or two years of college with course work in Biology, Chemistry, Physiology and Physics;
Experience working in a laboratory or healthcare industry, preferred
Must be accurate;
Work efficiently

Responsive problem solving skills;
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple task simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically fit;
Ability to lift reagents and equipment up to 45 pounds;
Ability to enter walk-in freezers and walk-in refrigerator (-40 degrees C and 2 degrees C, respectively);
Ability to stand for long periods of time;
Interactive and fast-paced team oriented tasks;
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate lab equipment,computer and mouse.
