Description:
Reports to Sportsbook Supervisor. The Ticket Writer I will sell, process and pay all winning bets according to specified dollar amount(s), game/race selection, and betting conditions to ensure that customers receive accurate vouchers
Essential Job Duties:
Sell and process all bets according to specified dollar amount, game/race selection and betting conditions in order to provide players with betting tickets accurately reflecting desired specifications
Explains the rules and variations of betting at players' request, answers players' questions and assists them with the game in order to provide adequate customer service and promote betting activity
Pays all winning bets according to proper odds, to ensure that winning players receive accurate payments
Balances the money with ticket sales and payments to winners in order to ensure that all monies are accurately accounted for at the end of each day
Accept/disburse funds for account deposits/withdrawals
Job requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Ability to clearly communicate information
Knowledge of sportsbook betting practices, procedures and policies
Ability to perform routine mathematic computations and tabulations accurately and efficiently
Ability to recognize and report hazards and apply safe work methods
Stand and/or sit for extended periods of time
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Previous experience dealing with customers one-on-one. Good interpersonal skills.
Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Proficient user in Excel and the Microsoft Office package.
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and days as scheduled.
Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
