Summary:

Assists in managing and coordinating the business and service programs of Alabama A&M University (AAMU) Athletics Business Office. The Ticket & Business Operations Assistant participates in the daily sale and assignment of tickets for athletic events, provides support and assistance for athletic ticket operations, and performs duties essential to the Athletic Business Office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handles daily ticket office sales and provides customer support as it relates to online and in-person ticket sales; including proficiency with athletics ticketing system.
• Maintains appropriate ticket sales records.
• Follows all NCAA, university, and athletics department policies and procedures as it relates to cash/revenue collection, and inventory control.
• Provides administrative support to Athletic Business Office and part-time coaches.
• Prepares and input requisitions in Banner system for assigned Olympic sports and Athletic Business Office.
• Contributes to the overall success of the athletics department by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics and/or their designee.
• Performs some weekend and evening job duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):

Bachelor's degree in business or other related field and at least two (2) years of business, sales experience, and customer service experience in an athletic department or other customer related environment.

OR

An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

• Proficiency with athletics ticketing system
• Strong business operations skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with computer and internet, specifically Microsoft Excel and Word
• Good organizational and time management skills
• A professional demeanor
• Ability to work effectively in a high energy environment with people of other cultures and backgrounds
• Ability to work some weekend and evening
• Ability to multi-task and use critical thinking skills

SALARY:

The salary for each position is based on the grade/tier in which the position is placed, and the salary within the grade/tier is based on the number of years of related experience or number of years in the hiring rank.
