Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Additionally, Tire Machine Operator works under immediate supervision. We are seeking one Machine Operators to perform complex machining and fitting of all kinds of parts, tools, and machines in support of job shop machining at our Simonds International facility in Big Rapids, MI. Come join our great team of dedicated employees and grow with us!
Primary Responsibilities- Use specialized saws to cut steel.
- Use calipers and micrometers.
- Understand fractions and decimals.
- Read industrial knife blueprints.
- Forklift Certified (or able to become certified)
- Load and unload steel from machines
- Changing tooling or saw blades
- Add coolant and empty swarf
- General cleaning of machines and area.
- Work with a high sense of urgency
- Wear all required PPE.
- Active participation in Lean training and events as requested.
- Must cross-train to other positions as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience- Able to work with people to troubleshoot problems.
- Able to schedule daily work requirements unsupervised to meet customer demands.
- Work with a technician to troubleshoot minor machine problems.
- Must be able to speak and read English.
- Must be able to do basic math.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
