Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews of property titles, surveys, and legal documents to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
- Analyze complex legal issues related to commercial real estate transactions, including deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, contracts, and easements.
- Perform extensive research on property records, public records, court cases, and other relevant sources of information to gather data necessary for evaluation.
- Collaborate with attorneys, underwriting managers, examiners, and other stakeholders to resolve intricate title issues or provide guidance on underwriting decisions.
- Generate comprehensive reports summarizing findings and recommendations that may impact the issuance of title insurance policies.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in commercial real estate within the field of title insurance underwriting.
- Proficient knowledge of real estate laws, regulations, and industry standards related to commercial transactions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents accurately.
- Exceptional attention to detail to identify potential risks or defects within property titles.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders such as attorneys, clients, lenders, etc.
