Pruitt Tool & Supply, Co. is currently seeking candidates for a Design Engineer at our corporate offices in Fort Smith, AR.

We are an API Q1 Quality Management Certified company and we manufacture/refurbish specialized drilling equipment used in the oil and gas industry.

We are seeking candidates to work as part of the Engineering Department to conceptualize, design and oversee the development of new products. Incumbent will:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of Company's strategic direction and design products accordingly
• Create drawings utilizing CAD software
• Understand the importance and application of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Ensure all designs, plans, drawings, etc. are in compliance with Q1 Quality Standards
• Troubleshoot equipment, analyze end results and prepare final reports
• Develop test criteria, analyze test results and propose changes based on data output
• Utilize creative thinking skills to design/re-design equipment as assigned

Position requires:

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Candidate will be on track to achieve Professional Engineer Certificate within 6 years of hire
• 1 year experience utilizing CAD software
• Incumbent must be an Engineer in Training - Candidate must have already passed the test OR must pass the test within 6 months of employment.
• A basic understanding of mechanical stress calculations; fluid mechanics, and material science (FEA)
• The ability to apply industry standards to equipment design
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Strong computer skills
