Job Summary: 

The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for developing technical solutions for the electrical system for future Club Car vehicles.     Specifically, we are seeking a high-energy Electrical Engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit, passion for success, a demonstrated passion to be part of a cross functional team developing product solutions to meet customer and business needs.   The ideal candidate will have a hunger for researching new technologies and a desire to be the industry leader in the electrification of vehicles.  This individual will be a key contributor in growing our business by balancing risk and reward using advanced engineering and project management tools.  This position offers the opportunity to follow your work from concept to production and will require you to apply both analytical and hands-on skills.  You will also see the direct results of your work leaving the Plant on a daily basis!

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Help develop and execute the growth strategies for the electrical technologies team.
• Evaluate and develop electrical harness and component concepts for systems and assemblies to meet new product requirements 
• Develop and/or update electrical part drawings and specifications
• Perform Tolerance Studies and worst case circuit analysis on Components and Assemblies
• Line support for pilot builds
• Editing and creating design guidelines
• Demonstrated ability to drive to root cause for quality and reliability issues
• Demonstrated ability to interpret technical agency standards and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering practices
• Conduct DFMEA and create test and analysis plans for Product Validation
• Define and Supervise product validation testing
• Provide guidance and leadership to designers, lab technicians and other team members
• Lead cross functional design reviews and Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Assessments on Components & Assemblies
• Identify and assess key supplier capabilities using APQP processes and tools.
• Assist in the preparation of project schedules and budgets for assigned projects
• Provide engineering support to product planning and/or technical support teams
• Identify electrical quality and productivity improvement opportunities
• Administer appropriate agency and regulatory approval processes. 
• Develop and/or update electrical purchased part specifications and engineering drawings. 
• Identify and assess key supplier capabilities using APQP processes and tools.
• Prepare complete schedules and reports for assigned projects. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Master’s in Electrical Engineering a plus
• 5 -7 years work experience in automotive electrical systems design and/or systems engineering

Essential Skills or Knowledge:

• Demonstrated ability to work within a cross functional technical team
• Ability to design logical schematics and approve wiring diagrams
• Knowledge of AC/DC traction motors
• Knowledge of Lithium and FLA battery fundamentals
• Working knowledge and/or experience with automotive networks such as CAN and/or LIN
• Experience with power system modules and electric vehicle controls and safety features  
• Strong interest in power system modules and electrification of vehicles
• Familiarity with product validation and qualification test strategies and processes.
• APQP, 8D or equivalent quality tools and processes
• Competency in Microsoft products including, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint required

• EMC Testing Knowledge

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent technical, analytical and problem solving skills 
• Must be tenacious with quality and customer service orientation 
• Knowledge of the appropriate automotive product safety and design standards
• Basic experience with 3D-CAD applications such as ProE is a plus
