Tool Design Engineer jobs in Brockton, MA

Tool Design Engineer designs and develops tools and machinery used to facilitate and optimize manufacturing processes. Reviews product design and build requirements to determine tooling concepts, design options, testing plans, and specifications. Being a Tool Design Engineer develops designs for fixtures, jigs, gauges, cutting and forming tools, carts, racks, and other items to support production. Utilizes Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to create accurate, complete, and concise design models and documentation to fabricate tools. Additionally, Tool Design Engineer estimates costs, resource requirements, and materials required for tools. May manage the sourcing, quoting, or procurement of purchased tools. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Design Engineer work is closely managed.       • Expertise on Value Engineering, Tolerance Stack-up, GD&T, DFM/DFA, DFMEA, PFMEA
    • Additional Preferred skills
      • Perform a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement)
      • Design Plastic, sheet metal, machine, casting components in medical systems and components that meet needs and requirements.
      • Conduct experiments methodically, analyses data and interpret results.
      • Experience in ordering 3dprinted part, Machined parts, Molded parts and assembling them.
      • Create 3d Wire harness route in SOLIDWORKS
      • Create 2d drawing for Wire harness with pin details using Board schematic(should understand pin details from board schematic and provide those details from and to in drawing)
