Description:

This role is in Brookston, IN as a Mechanical Design Engineer you will design and build custom sheet metal structures for custom electrical switchgear projects. Working closely with customer requirements, in house mechanical and electrical engineers and production teams to create clever, cost effective power distribution solutions. In addition, your job will be focused on understanding the engineering behind how and where to connect the sheet metal parts. This person will take ideas, sometimes napkin sketches, from cradle to grave and figure out the engineering, feasibility, and designability of each product and making sure they are

structurally sound.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with in house Electrical Engineers on the design and development of electrical sheet metal enclosures: switchgear, switchboards, control panels, etc.
• Develop top level sheet metal assemblies, parts and part prints in 3D software
• Create bill of materials for part manufacturing
• Access and ensure customer specific requirements are met
• Receive and complete engineering change requests
• Liaison between mechanical design team and other departments as needed

Ideal Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience engineering design for sheet metal
• Associates Degree Preferred
• Professional experience with either SolidWorks or AutoCAD
