Job Summary:

The Product Design Engineer is a full-time position responsible for supporting Sales and Manufacturing through teamwork, research, design, and documentation.  This team member uses engineering methods to design, test, evaluate, and document materials and processes to meet customer expectations.  

In our fast paced, custom product design environment, the Product Design Engineer is responsible for supporting the design from concept through delivery.  Our containers deliver essential goods and services to our customer’s end users:   the Product Design Engineer is at the forefront of protecting that product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare solid models and drawings identifying features & tolerances critical to customer success
• Execute finite element analysis as necessary to ensure customer requirements are met
• Provide reviews of documentation as requested by peers 
• Support internal and external customer requests for information
• Generate and maintain Bills of Material supporting Sourcing and Manufacturing
• Use broad technical skills to ensure manufacturability of products
• Develop and maintain procedures & instructions to convey processes and methods
• Assess human factors in processes to improve safety and reduce nonconformity
• Share knowledge amongst team members
• Protect the proprietary nature of all ECS Composites products, materials, and processes
• Other tasks as deemed necessary

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Education:   B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology
• Understanding of manufacturing methods, materials, & standards
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Professional written and verbal communication skills as well as sound interpersonal skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, PowerPoint & Excel

Beneficial Skills:

• Experience in composites manufacturing
  1. Thermoset, thermostamp, rotational molding, or resin transfer molding
