Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Design Engineer work is closely managed.     ROLE OBJECTIVE:
    To excel as a Manufacturing Technician by utilizing advanced print reading abilities, drafting experience, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. Committed to leveraging proficient computer skills, particularly in Excel, to enhance productivity and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals. Dedicated to upholding quality standards, fostering teamwork, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Interpret and comprehend engineering drawings and blueprints with precision to ensure accurate execution of manufacturing processes.
    • Utilize drafting skills to contribute to the creation and modification of technical documents, such as schematics, diagrams, and production layouts.
    • Execute manufacturing processes efficiently and accurately, adhering to established procedures and quality standards.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, sales desk and quality assurance, to ensure a smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
    • Proactively troubleshoot technical issues as they arise, utilizing problem-solving skills and technical expertise to implement effective solutions promptly.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to uphold safety and efficiency standards, including proper storage of tools, materials, and equipment, as well as adherence to safety protocols and regulations.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, ensuring the safe handling of materials and products throughout the workday.
    •  Experience of 2-3 years in manufacturing environment.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, with a proven track record of accurately identifying discrepancies and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
    • Possess high levels of energy, flexibility, and initiative, allowing for effective adaptation to dynamic work environments and proactive problem-solving.
    • Minimum age requirement of 18 years to comply with legal regulations and workplace safety standards.
    • Preferred experience in utilizing measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools, showcasing proficiency in precise measurement techniques and equipment operation.


    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
    • Demonstrated previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, showcasing a deep understanding of industry practices and processes, which enhances the ability to execute tasks effectively.
    • Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks, enabling efficient creation and modification of technical documents to support manufacturing operations.
    • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles, encompassing expertise in waste reduction, continuous improvement methodologies, and value stream mapping, facilitating optimization of manufacturing processes.
    • Possession of an associate degree or certification in a relevant field, such as Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Drafting, providing a comprehensive theoretical knowledge base and practical skills essential for success in the role.

    Work Schedule:
    Full time: Monday – Friday, typically day shift, determined by business need.
      • 1st  SHIFT: 7:00a.m.-3:00p.m. or 8:00a.m.-4:00p.m.

    CAD Certification:
    Possession of a certification in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks, demonstrating proficiency in drafting and technical documentation tasks.

    Lean Manufacturing Certification:
    Certification in Lean manufacturing principles, indicating knowledge and expertise in waste reduction, continuous improvement methodologies, and value stream mapping.

    Occupational Safety Certifications:
    Relevant certifications in occupational safety and health, such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certifications, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols in the manufacturing environment.

    Professional Association Memberships:
    Active membership in professional associations related to manufacturing or engineering fields, indicating a commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on industry best practices.


    Compensation:  
    • Competitive pay scale for Design 1 with the potential to earn up to the Design 2 scale, commensurate with skills and experience.
    • Shift premium offered if applicable to the position.
    • Overtime compensation available with prior management approval.
