Tool Design Engineer designs and develops tools and machinery used to facilitate and optimize manufacturing processes. Reviews product design and build requirements to determine tooling concepts, design options, testing plans, and specifications. Being a Tool Design Engineer develops designs for fixtures, jigs, gauges, cutting and forming tools, carts, racks, and other items to support production. Utilizes Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to create accurate, complete, and concise design models and documentation to fabricate tools. Additionally, Tool Design Engineer estimates costs, resource requirements, and materials required for tools. May manage the sourcing, quoting, or procurement of purchased tools. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Design Engineer work is closely managed. Our ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience with H&H study/design and applicable software applications. Immediate projects will include H&H studies/designs for agency, county, municipal, institutional, and private clients in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• P.E. License in New Jersey, or Pennsylvania, or both (one state required, and upon hiring, commitment to immediately apply for P.E. License in the other)
• Ability to serve as a task leader for H&H studies and designs, including signing/sealing H&H modeling runs and H&H Reports (required)
• Experience with software commonly used for H&H studies and designs in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, e.g. HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-18, PondPACK or similar, etc.
• Familiarity with CADD Software (MicroStation/OpenRoads, AutoCAD)
• Familiarity with drainage design, stormwater management design, and E&S design (preferred)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (required)
• Valid Driver’s License
