Tool Design Engineering Manager manages the design and development of tools and machinery to facilitate and optimize manufacturing processes. Leads design reviews to determine tooling concepts, design options, testing plans, and specifications. Being a Tool Design Engineering Manager provides expert input to resolve design issues and innovate solutions. Oversees the design, fabrication, sourcing, and procurement of fixtures, jigs, gauges, cutting and forming tools, carts, racks, and other items to support production. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in water/wastewater analysis and design. HILGARTWILSON has extensive experience providing services on many high profile water and wastewater projects for municipal and utility clients as well as those required to support many of the Valley’s largest and most prestigious master-planned communities, industrial, educational and mixed use developments. HILGARTWILSON’s growing Water Infrastructure Group currently consists of a dozen motivated and skilled team members.
• Prepares reports, improvement plans, and other design documents• Responsible for quality control, schedules and oversight of plan production• Delegates work and gives team technical guidance assuring design is technically sound and cost efficient• Coordinates with team members, staff, municipalities, consultants and clients• Provides highly technical design and quality control• Processes plans and resolves issues with plan reviewers• Assists with projects and management• Mentors other design staff in areas of technical expertise
• Relevant Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience• 7 years’ engineering experience with public and/or private entities
• Arizona P.E. • Capable of preparing design on variety of water and/or wastewater projects• Working knowledge of AutoCAD• Sound engineering fundamentals including hydraulic principles• Displays strong judgement, organizational, and technical skills and thrives in a team environment• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Attention to detail, quality work and client service• Self-motivated and able to manage and meet multiple critical deadlines
• Experience in water distribution and wastewater collection facilities analysis and design, which may include pump stations, storage reservoirs, well sites, lift stations, water mains and sewer mains• Experience with local municipalities’ engineering requirements• Proficiency with WaterCAD, InfoWater, and/or SewerCAD software systems• Experience in land development, hydraulic modeling and design
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times• Must be able to travel to various offices and project sites when necessary
