Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. This is a Team driven fast paced position that handles the process of 5 components: Robot Polishing, Shot Blasting, Manual Filing, Inspection, and Packing. Attention to detail is crucial as you will inspect finished products for quality and make any necessary adjustments. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential, as is following safety protocols and guidelines.
To be successful in this role, previous experience in a similar position is preferred. Mechanical knowledge and aptitude are important, as well as familiarity with robotics.
Experience:
- Previous experience in robotics preferred
- Mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools
- Ability to read and interpret programming prints
- Quality/Inspection - Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to stand for 8-10 hours on a rotating basis between components - Strong mathematical skills
