Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.     This position offers:

    Starting at Top Pay of $31.52/hr
    Additional $0.75/hr shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift

    • Maintain, Repair, and Build Dies, Jigs, Fixtures and Detailed Tooling Components.
    • Install and repair die tooling, working with Progressive Stamping Presses.
    • Able to trouble-shoot probable causes of defective parts pertaining to tool die repairs.
    • Able to use root-cause failure analysis to make improvements.
    • Working knowledge of Auto-Cad for reading blue prints and mapping die components.
    • Must be able to operate Manual Mills, Lathes, Surface Grinders, and CNC Equipment.
    • Able to operate all Tool Die Equipment
    • Hands on experience with drill presses, die grinders, air tools and basic tool and die hand tools
    • Hands on experience with calipers, micrometers, and other measurement equipment
    • EDM experience would be a plus.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

    Knowledge You Should Bring

    • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; An attached resume is required
    • Must be able to work any shift
    • Journeyman Card presently held as an approved UAW Skilled Trade, or
    • Documentation showing a Bona Fide Apprenticeship equaling 4 years/8000 hours experience and holds a certificate to substantiate service or qualification in a trade, or
    • Documentation substantiating 8 years of practical experience in the Industrial Maintenance fieldwith certifiable proof
    • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to set-up and operate Tool Die equipment.
    • Must be able to read blue prints and use Auto-Cad Technology.
    • Hands on experience with mechanical and electrical tools used in the maintenance trade.
    • Should be able to perform all the essential functions of the job

    Exceptional Candidates Might Have

    • Additional technical/college education is a plus
    • Self-motivated to work in a fast paced environment
