Position overview:

The Customer Order Manager's primary duties include receiving customer orders, reviewing customer PO for accuracy, confirming ship dates, keeping customer records up to date, print packing slips, maintain pricing and proof of delivery information. This position is also responsible for maintaining customer price lists, reviewing backlog of past due orders and payments, preparation of A/R reporting weekly collections, maintain customer quote spreadsheet.

Reporting to the Controller, the Customer Order Manager will work closely with the accounting team and operations team to strive for the highest possible level of accuracy. Other important duties include making recommendations for improvements in order tracking system, monitoring backlog of orders, and having a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for receiving order from customer and reviewing customer PO for accuracy

• Enter sales order into Sage, File Customer PO and quotes in Filehold
  

• Progress reports on jobs, weekly meetings with master scheduler
  

• Confirm ship date with customer, print packing slips for next day shipments/ad hoc packing slips
  

• Receive packing slips from shipping, review for accuracy and invoice customer

• Maintain report of packing slips sent to shipping and confirm that all are returned for processing

• Maintain pricing accuracy for changes in material pricing and update Sales Orders accordingly

• Maintain customer price lists and handle proof of delivery requests from customers
  

• Handle progress billings to customers based on agreed upon milestones and terms

• Review backlog of past due orders and reporting of backlog dollars

• Prepare A/R reporting weekly for collections process

• Maintain customer quote spreadsheet

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and internal controls while also evaluating the current systems related to opportunities for improvement
  

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Accounting degree or equivalent experience required

• Experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred

• Customer Service Experience 3 – 5 years

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills

• Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal skills and highly detail oriented

• Experience with Sage Accounting packages preferred

• Proficient/advanced in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
