Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker with Job Shop experience to join our team. As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for building, and repairing various types of tools, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.
Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
- Assemble Tools and Fixtures, use milling machines, lathes, grinders, and CNC machines to fabricate parts as needed.
- Inspect finished tools, or fixtures for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
- Test completed tools or fixtures to ensure they meet quality standards
- Troubleshoot issues with tools or fixtures and make necessary repairs or modifications
- Collaborate with engineers and design personnel to optimize tooling designs for efficiency and effectiveness.
Experience:
- Job Shop experience as a Tool and Die Maker
- Experience working with hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Familiarity with milling machines, lathes, grinders, and CNC machines
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Strong math skills for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and material properties
