Scope of Position:

Performs a wide variety of duties to maintain and sharpen single operation, progressive and forming

dies used in the manufacturing process. WDI also setup dies in punch presses for production runs maximizing safety and productivity.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, Position Requirements:

* Works from print. specifications, charts, formulas, drawings, sketches, written and verbal

Instructions, and requests

• Uses precision measuring instruments including micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges,

indicators, rules, squares, surface plates, and various hand tools

• Sets up and operates machinery including drill presses, surface and wet grinders, saws, lathes,

milling machines, and other tool-making machinery

• Dresses grinding wheels as needed
• Selects, modifies, replaces, and sharpens various tools, punches, blades, die holders, jigs, and

other tools

• Diagnoses operational problems with stamping dies, examining parts strips, parts, and tool

operation

* Reads and Interprets blueprints

• Maintains Inventory and maintenance records of commonly used parts, tools, and
• Has familiarity with material handling practices, coil feeding equipment, punch press operation

and safety equipment

• Adheres to safe punch press set practices with the use of clamps, hardware and hand
• Inspects machinery and reports defective or unsafe equipment/materials to management
• Ensures compliance with performance standards, specifications, and prints

* Maintains work environment in a safe and organized manner

• Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested
