Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Description
Responsible for Maintenance repair of metal stamping dies, making new die details, adjusting dies. Which means we are continually seeking diligent, determined performers who think outside the box to help us find better and more efficient ways to manufacture our vehicles.
· Repairs dies, molds, and tools when needed; disassembles dies, jigs, tools, and fixtures, then reassembles when repaired.
· Reads and understands blueprints and complicated schematics as required to create and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts.
· Uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to create designs and programs to machine details.
· Inspects completed tools and dies for signs of imperfection or damage that may affect functionality.
· Regularly tests all equipment, tools, and machines to ensure they are arranged and set properly and working efficiently.
· Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment.
· Working understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
· Thorough understanding of metallic properties.
· Ability to work independently.

Requirements

· Work Environment: Work is typically performed in both a machine shop and production environment, including some weekend work.
· Must be able to use a variety of tools and equipment such as computer terminal for data input, copy machines, calculators, machinist tools, grinders, welders, various hand tools and any other equipment related to the functional area.

· Work is performed in a manufacturing environment and the individual must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when on the production floor, which includes head protection, hearing protection; safety eye protection, gloves, sleeves and steel-toes safety shoes, high visibility vest.
