Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the company's Orders and Payables with some Recievables, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the accounts payable process. This is a vital role within our organization, and we are looking for a candidate who is knowledgeable in computers and excel.

Responsibilities:

- Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies

- Review and verify invoices and check requests for appropriate documentation and approval

- Prepare and perform weekly check runs

- Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies

- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in the general ledger system

- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable

- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any invoice or payment discrepancies

- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner

- Assist with annual tax preparation by providing necessary documentation

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role

- Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles

- Familiarity with corporate accounting procedures and best practices

- Proficiency in accounting software such as Ceridian, Paychex, or Kronos

- Experience with payroll management is a plus

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy skills

- Strong organizational and time management abilities

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

- Knowledge of general ledger reconciliation processes

- Understanding of debits and credits in accounting

- Previous experience in public accounting is a plus
