Top Actuarial Executive provides leadership, innovation, and oversight to an organization's actuarial function. Develops policies, procedures, and formulas to guide statistical analysis and actuarial research and accurately evaluate the likelihood and financial impact of various risks. Being a Top Actuarial Executive ensures policies and procedures are implemented effectively to ensure regulatory compliance of all financial operations and products. Responsible for the strategic planning and oversight of product development. Additionally, Top Actuarial Executive establishes profitability targets and regularly reviews product rates, premium levels, and rating systems to evaluate effectiveness and measure performance against targets. Reviews and validates financial statements, regulatory filings, and other financial projections before publishing or submitting. Communicates with marketing and other key stakeholders to present rating structures and systems and ensure adequate understanding of products. Applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculations in life, health, social, and casualty insurance, annuities, and pensions. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA). May require Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA). Typically reports to top management. The Top Actuarial Executive manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Top Actuarial Executive typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     Work Format

    The Actuarial Analyst I role is a hybrid eligible position located out of Reno, NV. Hybrid schedules are 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

    Job Overview

    Capital Insurance Group is seeking a candidate to join our Actuarial Division. You will work alongside our creative and entrepreneurial individuals in Reno, NV. We look to partner with a candidate who fits with the CIG culture, excels as a decision enabler, and can effectively collect and communicate results to key stakeholders. Projects assigned will come from multiple actuarial disciplines.

    Requirements

    • Pursuing or possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, or related quantitative subjects.
    • 0–1 years of Actuarial experience.
    • Completion of one or more actuarial exams is required. Two or more exams is preferred.
    • Experience using SQL and a comprehensive understanding of relational databases is highly preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of R, Python, or other statistical software is highly preferred.
    • Predictive modeling experience is preferred.
    • Proficiency in Excel spreadsheet.
    • Basic knowledge with data visualization software (e.g. Tableau) is a plus.
    • Some experience using Visual Basic Application in Excel is a plus.
    • Complies with professionalism standards set by the Casualty Actuarial Society.

    Salary Range: $53,508- $88,288

    The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as benefits and bonus programs.
