The RN for the Freedom Behavioral Program in Greenville assumes leadership responsibility for day-to-day coordination of patient care activities for the unit while maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in accord with federal and state regulations. Provides direct patient care within the scope of the RN license. The RN assumes the role of Charge nurse as assigned providing oversight to ancillary staff during their scheduled shift. The RN provides direct oversight to the nursing staff as indicated in the absence of the Nurse Manager (NM) and communicates with the NM on relevant nursing care issues. Participates the performance improvement through completion of assigned chart monitoring. Coordinates the performance of nursing care to patients within the scope of practice and in compliance with policies, procedures, and standards. Communicates with the medical staff on identified patient issues. Performs patient care assessments timely and accurately. Addresses patient care needs in a timely manner. Documents findings into the medical record accurately and timely. Completes all admission paperwork. The RN ensures all admission and daily documentation is completed thoroughly and signed and dated according to protocol. Adheres to Human Resource policies regarding code of conduct and attendance. Follows Infection Control and Employee Health Guidelines to ensure safety of patients and staff.
Actively works with the Service Development Department of the Freedom Behavioral Program in Greenville to facilitate admissions into the facility in a timely manner. The RN maintains knowledge of admission criteria and accurately documents admission criteria for new admissions. Functions as a member of the treatment team and communicates identified patient goals, interventions, and assessments.
