Being a Top Business Development Executive develops a wide network of contacts to keep informed about current and future industry and market actions. Researches and analyzes the business environment, competitors, and customers to develop ideas for new products and services, pricing, and business models. Additionally, Top Business Development Executive directs financial feasibility studies, development of proposals, and negotiations for new business opportunities. Collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to chief executive officer (ceo). Responsible for the development of functional or business unit strategy for the entire organization.   • The Business Development Executive (BDE) is a senior sales position who serves as the primary relationship owner for an assigned group of top-tier client accounts with responsibility for winning new clients while retaining and growing existing clients. Primarily, the BDE must be a sales “hunter,” building new relationships and winning work from new contractors. He or she ensures that clients realize maximum value from our services. He/she finds new opportunities, identifies decision-makers, strengthens personal and professional relationships, positions the company favorably and works with internal resources to maximize the potential to win large deals. The Business Development Executive plays a critical role in the growth and goals of the Company.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Exceed sales target.
    • Build relationships for Sandstone Structures with new potential clients.
    • Strengthen relationships with existing clients.
    • Navigate the complex process of contracting by identifying decision-makers and influencers.
    • Proactively and efficiently leverage resources with dedicated teams and executive staff around opportunities to ensure successful outcomes for the jobs we want.
    • Win work from new contractors. Demonstrate talent as a sales “hunter.”
    • Ability to establish and manage executive/owner level customer relationships.
    • Ability to manage multiple complex sales cycles simultaneously.
    • Ability to align the overall company solution to the customer’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements.
    • Build and maintain a consistently strong pipeline.
    • Provide a relationship-based sales approach to clients.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required.
    • Minimum of 5 years successful experience as a sales executive carrying an individual quota targeting new relationships and winning new clients
    • Preferred experiences and accomplishments:
      • Experience independently leading client growth with revenue over $1M.
      • Average client size at least $500K-1.5M
      • Deal size targeted will be $1-10M.
    • Experience in contracting and understanding of the industry is preferred but not required.
    • Exhibit company core values: Honesty and integrity, understanding the importance of reputation, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, growth-oriented, owning responsibilities (embraces accountability)
    • A true sales “Hunter”
      • Relationship builder with strong people/communication skills while having executive presence and exuding credibility.
      • Ability and experience selling to all levels within a client’s organization including ownership, developers, project management, purchasing.
      • Strategically skilled in finding new business opportunities and key decision-makers using relationships, technical knowledge, and research.
      • Persistence. A closer.
    • Experience managing and directing the entire sales cycle from beginning to close.
    • Proven track record of consistently exceeding assigned annual/quarterly goals.
    • Ability to improve a company’s closing rate on bids.
    • Experience working for a small company with a growth focus preferred. Willing to figure things out on own, not waiting for exact instructions.
    • Attentive to forecasting and business reporting responsibilities.
    • Disciplined use of a CRM to record customer interactions, build a sales pipeline, provide accurate forecasts and tract sales progress.
    • Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
