Business Development Executive
  • Corporate Technologies LLC
  • Prairie, MN FULL_TIME
  • Corporate Technologies is hiring a Business Development Representative. This role consists of new business development and includes full-desk responsibilities – setting and running sales meetings. We have a great training program that will educate someone without IT services experience on how to identify service issues. We are a sales focused company and provide significant resources for our sales teams to be successful. Part of your time will be spent at our office but hopefully, more time in front of prospective customers in theirs. Bottom line – this job is for hunters!

The type of person that should consider the role of Business Development Representative at Corporate Technologies should have a lot or all of the following:

You don't believe "Cold calling is dead" We are the fastest growing MSP in the country and 95% of our new customers started with a cold call. Yes, we have marketing and are increasing the # of inbound leads each month, but picking up the phone should be something you have done and enjoy.

You can manage the entire sales cycle– You have experience setting meetings with decision makers and running your meetings. We use email, LinkedIn, and SEO but we believe that cold calling is still the most effective way to reach our target audience. We are one of the fastest growing MSPs in the country and therefore know that it still works.

You like selling a service solution– We meet with small and medium-sized business owners. We spend time with them asking questions to understand if we can help them. We’ll teach you the questions and other discovery methods necessary to be successful. But – you need to be a good listener as well. Good news is that 85% of the companies we meet aren’t being taken care of with their technology services.

You have confidence to help business owners make decisions– If you love helping people make decisions, showing them a better way, then this job could be great for you. You should be comfortable sitting in front of business owners and making recommendations. We educate companies on how technology solutions and services can benefit them. Our salespeople are part doctor and part pharmacist. "I've identified some problems with your IT services and have the prescription on how we can fix it."

You understand that selling starts after the first objection – No “Tommy Boys” need apply. We love the moviebut are looking for people that understand part of our job is to help a potential customer in making a decision. Just because your Mom said that “you could sell ice to eskimos” – a true sales person knows that it requires more than just the ability to talk with anyone to be successful in sales.

You’re a hunter – We have account managers at our company, but this is not that role. Getting hung up on and hearing NO are interactions that don’t bother you. You understand your importance as a sales professional and recognize that these things are just our occupational hazards. You’ll review what you could have possibly done differently after receiving these types of responses, but you also know that it’s just part of the job.

You like to make lots of $$$– Your earning potential is limitless, but a good salesperson will be making $80-$120K. Our top salespeople are making $140-190k. We also have an annual Presidents Club. Last year we took the winners to Washington DC. This year we are going somewhere warm! We also provide a car allowance for our top salespeople.

    Why Corporate Technologies?

Assuming you are the type of person that Corporate Technologies is looking for, let us tell you why you should work at our company:

We’re growing quickly – Corporate Technologies is a fast-growing company, on its way to being a national Managed Service Provider. In 2023 we grew from having customers in 5 markets to now being in 16 cities across the US. This means that there will be plenty of opportunity for career growth as well and possibly working in a different geographic location. Also, almost our entire management started at entry level roles when they joined Corporate Technologies. “Started from the bottom and now I’m here!’

We believe in work/life balance - We know our team members have lives outside the office and we want them to enjoy it. We think 8 hours is enough time to get our jobs done each day. Sure, there are times when we need to work late to get something accomplished or there may be issues that require “all hands-on the deck” but 98% of the time you should expect an 8-hour day.

We offer amazing services to our customers – We have comprehensive service offerings that take care of all the needs of our customers. Each service area has dedicated teams to ensure that our customers are being taken care of each day.We take immense pride in service delivery and are constantly evaluating ways to improve.

We’re well financed – In July 2023, we partnered with a well-known private equity firm that wants to help us grow. And as mentioned above - we’re growing fast!

We love small businesses – Our mission is “Empowering our customers with technology services that enable them to succeed.” We think SMBs are the lifeblood of the US economy. We want to help our customers grow by making sure their technology works and provides a strategic solution for their success.

We win awards – Our commitment to taking care of our customers, employees, and providing outstanding services are recognized throughout the industry. We’ve won awards for top MSP, fastest growing company, top cloud provider, partner of the year, etc. We’ve also been recognized as one of the best places to work.

We like to have fun - Yes, we work a lot, but we also have fun. We have parties and activities outside the office to enjoy ourselves and to strengthen the relationships that we build at work. Here are some fun things we have done in the last 12 months - bowling, baseball games, horse track racing (may have been some wagering as well), comedy clubs, going to plays and of course many BBQs.

We value integrity and responsibility - We like the expression, "If you say you're going to do something - do it." We believe in personal responsibility. We are a big company that is growing quickly and we like working with people that will own their role and responsibilities. That being said, we’re a team and when you need a helping hand, you will find at least five reaching out.
