Electronic Banking/Cash Management Team Leader (onsite)

    Are you ready to take your banking and leadership experience to the next level? Newtown Savings Bank is seeking a strong leader, with experience in Electronic Banking, Deposit Operations and/or Cash Management services for the role of Electronic Banking/Cash Management Team Leader.

    This is an onsite opportunity at our Corporate office in Newtown, CT. Our role has a remote option of one day per week.

    The Team Leader manages overall daily eServices/Cash Management (“eServices/CM”) workflow, productivity, and processing quality. Directly supervises eServices/CM staff, assesses work performance and any training/coaching needs, delegates assignments, and performs a variety of eServices/CM tasks including key operational controls (i.e., secondary reviews of work completed by eServices/CM Representatives, Cash Management audits, etc). Responsible for ensuring all eServices/CM department tasks are completed in a timely manner, in compliance with all regulatory requirements and applicable State law and in accordance with the Bank’s documented policies and procedures. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for ensuring department reporting (e.g., KPIs) is regularly produced and accurate. The Team Leader engages directly with both internal and external customers including onsite visits to Cash Management customers’ facilities for sales calls, training on Cash Management solutions and to address/resolve any customer concerns. Interfaces directly with the Bank’s auditors/examiners as well as various levels of Bank Management. Works cross functionally with other areas of the Bank to identify/address opportunities for improvement and in support of Bank initiatives. Acts as the primary liaison to vendors/providers of eServices/CM solutions for daily operations. Assists management in the overall analysis and implementation of new/revised electronic banking/Cash Management products and services.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    ACH Operations – Responsibilities include customer ACH Origination batch processing, origination operations/processing (return notices to customers, customer training, limit exception approvals, batch frequency monitoring, file processing and balancing), responsible for daily Cash Management ACH processing.

    Audit – Annual Cash Management – Primary individual responsible for coordinating on and off-site customer audits, performing any required follow up activities, reviewing the associated Customer Agreements and obtaining updates as needed. Works with the relationship managers to provide them with all documentation and due dates needed to complete the on-site audits.

    Audits/Exams – Assists auditors and regulatory examiners during department audits/exams and performs regular employee audits to insure adherence to standard operating policies and procedures. Works closely with department management and the Bank’s Risk Management Department to manage the implementation and monitoring of operational controls. Supports audit and exam preparations; gathers and submits requested deliverables based on established deadlines. Keeps abreast of eServices/CM rules and regulations.

    Cash Management – Customer Contact –Supports and supervises eServices/CM staff to ensure quality customer service for calls and inquiries. Acts as first point of escalation for eServices/CM staff regarding customer concerns. Performs/coordinates independent on-site customer service/training calls and participates with Commercial and Retail Banking sales calls. Responds to Commercial and Retail Banking questions; serves as Subject Matter Expert performing training as needed.

    Cash Management Customer Database – Manages the Cash Management Customer database including CM services, limits, risk assessments, and on-site audit dates. Uses data to determine if services are being used properly and recommends limit change suggestions to Manager and relationship managers as needed. Under the Manager’s direction, revises the risk assessment database, verifies results and provides requested reports.

    Cash Management – Product Set up/Maintenance – Has primary responsibility for timely completion of Cash Management product set ups, customer training, and daily maintenance. Maintains adequate scanner inventory and tracking.

    Financial Operations – Assists Manager with customer pricing proformas and current business customer reviews to identify potential cash management service opportunities for sales team.

    Maintenance Reviews/File Maintenance - Oversees daily/monthly electronic banking maintenance report reviews and ensures that secondary reviews are completed in a timely manner.

    Operations Support – Acts as the Subject Matter Expert for the eServices/Cash Management department and supports line areas by responding to processing questions; ensures team members provide accurate responses to questions and that Incidents are completed on time and according to established policies and procedures. Follows up on unit product/service issues and any file/mass maintenance assigned to team. Provides back-office operations support and responds to customer inquiries.

    Procedures/Daily Task Lists - Monitors team documentation relative to areas of responsibility to ensure that it accurately reflects current processes and Bank policies. Ensures daily task lists for all team members are maintained as duties change. Responsible for making modifications to existing procedures as necessary and/or developing new documents as required.

    Project Management – In conjunction with Manager, ensures that all assigned electronic banking/Cash Management project deliverables are completed in a timely manner. Coordinates assigned project plans/test script verifications/deliverables for self and team members; insures completion by established target dates.

    Reporting - Ensures the accurate and timely completion of monthly statistical information and periodic management reports and billing (including invoice reconciliations).

    Risk Assessment - Assists Manager with preparation of the Annual ACH/RDC Risk Assessment as well as any data or documentation gathering needed to complete unit vendor, IT, Operational or other risk assessments as needed.

    Sales Support – Accompanies branch managers and loan officers on sales calls to potential customers to explain the benefits of Cash Management services and answer questions as needed. Performs on-site customer training, servicing, and installations.

    Training – Assists Manager with ongoing basic training to the Commercial and Retail sales areas regarding Cash Management and electronic banking features/benefits.

    Supervision - Supervises daily performance of eServices/CM Representative staff. Establishes staff goals, performs quarterly check-ins, drafts/delivers performance evaluations, and makes personnel recommendations. Provides guidance and training to team members regarding processes, procedures and ensures that team members are cross trained.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Associates Degree or the equivalent of 3 years college plus minimum 4-7 years banking experience in Electronic Banking, Deposit Operations and/or Cash Management services.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and meet assigned deadlines.
    • Ability to work well in team environment.
    • Ability to multi-task and work independently/self-starter as well as communicate well with customers and co-workers.
    • Detail oriented with a strong customer focus.
    • Ability to listen well, follow instructions, multi-task and work independently/self-starter

    • Good written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite products.
