    Job Description:

    Job Summary: The Trauma Data & Outcomes Analyst has a direct impact on enhancing healthcare practices and promoting injury prevention. This position plays a vital role in analyzing and interpreting data related to traumatic injuries. The Trauma Data & Outcomes Analyst collects, manages, and analyzes large volumes of trauma data to provide valuable insights and support decision-making in the field of trauma care and injury prevention. This position is responsible for project management and maintaining a good working relationship with all team members and key stakeholders.

    Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:

    Collaborates with organizational, regional and state trauma professionals and registries to collect comprehensive trauma data.

    Collaborates with the Trauma Registry Manager to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of collected data through meticulous data quality practices.

    Develops and maintains databases to store and organize trauma-related information.

    Utilizes statistical software and analytical tools to analyze and interpret trauma data.

    Identifies patterns, trends, and risk factors associated with traumatic injuries.

    Generates reports and visualizations to present data findings effectively to stakeholders.

    Collaborates with healthcare teams to identify areas of improvement in trauma care based upon data analysis.

    Participates in quality improvement initiatives, providing data-driven recommendations to enhance patient outcomes.

    Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions implemented for trauma care improvement.

    Conducts research on trauma-related topics, including new treatment methods, risk factors, and outcomes.

    Prepares comprehensive reports, research papers, and presentations based on data analysis findings.

    Communicates research findings to healthcare professionals, policymakers, and relevant stakeholders.

    Works closely with multidisciplinary teams, including trauma surgeons, nurses, and administrators, to ensure effective data collection and analysis.

    Provides training and support to staff members involved in data collection processes.

    Stays updated with the latest advancements in trauma data collection methods and analytical techniques.

    Creates accurate and meaningful reports for departmental and management decision making using MS Access, MS Excel, and other reporting tools as necessary.

    Qualifications:


    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as statistics, epidemiology, public health, or a related discipline.
    • Certifications required within 18 months of hire: Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) and Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS).
    • Minimum of three years’ experience in a health care setting.
    • Experience conducting analyses on large databases.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in a relevant field.
    • Current licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas or proof of reciprocity of licensure between the State of Texas and another state.
    • Experience conducting analyses on large trauma related databases.
    • Experience in healthcare or trauma related research.
    • Familiarity with implementing quality methodologies and best practices.
