Main Purpose of Job
The Office of the Maryland Comptroller is seeking a highly motivated intern to join our Communications team. This internship is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in public affairs, writing, and communications for a government agency. As a Communications Intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in communications activities and strategy. This internship will be available for 8 weeks during the months of June through August. Interns will complete between 16 and 20 hours of work per week.
POSITION DUTIES
Assisting with writing and editing press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials. Research and information gathering for communication projects related to Office of the Comptroller initiatives and projects Compiling media reports Participating in team meetings and brainstorming sessions Contributing to special projects as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Current college student enrolled in an accredited community college or four year university with an concentration in the fields of Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, English, Government, or related field.
