Executive Communications Manager - Office of the President

  • The Office of the President is seeking an Executive Communications Manager to join its communications team! In this position, you will be expected to plan, develop, edit and track a range of high-level, potentially sensitive executive communication projects for the university's president.

    Your core responsibilities will include:

    • Writing and developing speeches, talking points, reports, presentations, op-eds, statements, daily correspondence and other written materials for the Office of the President.

    • Coordinating communication efforts that align with the university's priority areas.

    • Modifying copy to communicate to a range of audiences, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, the media, policymakers, the community and the institution's Board of Trustees.

    • Translating sophisticated concepts into accessible language that is factually correct, clear and compelling.

    • Working as part of the Executive Communications team, and alongside other executive communicators, while engaging in original research, writing, editing and content development.

    • Working discreetly on sensitive or confidential assignments, including exercising sound editorial judgment in high-pressure, tight-deadline scenarios.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred

    • At least five years communications experience

    • Prior experience in higher education or academia is helpful, but not required

    • A combination of education and proven experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
