Your core responsibilities will include:
Writing and developing speeches, talking points, reports, presentations, op-eds, statements, daily correspondence and other written materials for the Office of the President.
Coordinating communication efforts that align with the university's priority areas.
Modifying copy to communicate to a range of audiences, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, the media, policymakers, the community and the institution's Board of Trustees.
Translating sophisticated concepts into accessible language that is factually correct, clear and compelling.
Working as part of the Executive Communications team, and alongside other executive communicators, while engaging in original research, writing, editing and content development.
Working discreetly on sensitive or confidential assignments, including exercising sound editorial judgment in high-pressure, tight-deadline scenarios.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
At least five years communications experience
Prior experience in higher education or academia is helpful, but not required
A combination of education and proven experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
