Position Summary

The Omega CDC Freedom Schools Reading Specialist (RS) is responsible for providing language arts assessments, as well as one-on-one and small group instruction and interventions to scholars in the Freedom Schools Summer Movement Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Administer pre and posttest for language arts to scholars.
• Offer one-on-one and small group language arts instruction and interventions to scholars.
• Identify individual scholar academic needs and skill deficits.
• Observation and oversight/mentor Servant Leader Interns
• Report academic progress and data to Lead Reading Specialist routinely.
• Attend weekly meetings.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Current Certified K-12 Educator
• 2 or more years of teaching experience in a Language Arts setting
• Ability to pass a BCI/FBI Background Check
• Bachelor's Degree or higher
