Top Community Health Executive focuses on advancing local, state and national health advocacy efforts. Responsible for overseeing community-based health programs aimed at the prevention of disease and promotion of health. Being a Top Community Health Executive determines community health initiatives to pursue and directs best practices implementation. Participates in and approves grant proposals and monitors overall use of grant funds. Additionally, Top Community Health Executive oversees all community health programs from planning and design through implementation and evaluation. Typically requires a master's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a top management. The Elkton Community Education Center (ECEC) is a cultural, educational and social oasis for all ages located in rural Douglas County. We're looking for an energetic, visionary Executive Director to lead us into the future as we celebrate 25 years of community-building in Elkton. Join an enthusiastic team of nearly 100 volunteers supported by a small number of dedicated staff to ensure our vibrant rural community continues to thrive for future generations.
Spend your days on 43 acres along the beautiful Umpqua River surrounded by extensive gardens, a butterfly pavilion, community library, native plant park & nursery, seasonal café, one-acre produce garden, and a life-size replica of a historic fur-trading fort.
Our summer youth employment program provides rural young people with valuable job skills, setting them up for success in life. As the primary cultural organization in our area, we offer a wide range of art shows, workshops, outdoor performances, and historic reenactments influenced by our partnerships with Native American tribal educators.
The successful candidate will embrace our community’s deep history while collaborating
with local residents and businesses to address emerging needs in innovative ways, such as
helping to expand our new Wellness Initiative to bring health and wellness services to our
small town.
