    Our client has an immediate opening in its Transportation Department for a Senior-Level Highway Design Engineer.

    With strong technical abilities and leadership skills, and experience in the design of highways, streetscapes, green infrastructure design, and other types of public works and utility projects.

    Responsibilities:
    • Leading the design of large and small projects to successful outcomes
    • Preparing scopes of services, project work plans, schedules, and budgets
    • Overseeing, guiding, and assisting in the planning and preparation of technical investigations, studies of design options and alternatives, and reports for the development of projects and technical documentation
    • Overseeing, guiding, and assisting in design work and delivering contract plans, specifications, and bid estimates on time and within budget
    • Ensuring proper codes and standards are being used on projects and that all work is properly reviewed and checked in detail
    • Supervision and mentoring of mid-level and junior engineers, and technicians
    • Supervision and direction of sub-consultants
    • Project management including accountability for meeting technical excellence objectives, financial performance goals, and the timely delivery of all contract obligations
    • Client management

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from a college or university with an ABET-accredited curriculum or equivalent
    • Registered Professional Engineer in New York State
    • 10 -15 years of successful design experience in highway and other types of public works and utility design projects, including project management
    • Very strong communication skills
    • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office software
    • MicroStation and/or Open Roads experience (optional)
    • Green Infrastructure modeling (optional)
