    Summary

     

    Producers develops new business and retain existing policies for benefits lines of business.  These requirements include certain requirements and skills including appropriate insurance licensing, insurance product knowledge, sales skills, client service and software detail orientation.

     

    Essential Functions


    • Sell and renew business in accordance with organization policy, procedures and cultural expectations in accordance with applicable state insurance regulations and insurance company’s policies and procedures for all current and future lines of business.
    • Sell new and renewal business in order to maintain and grow the agency’s book of business while maintaining workflow requirements, customer satisfaction and agency standards.
    • Meet agency standards for workflows and assigned work within the agency management software tools utilized including agency management software, online rating and marketing tools.
    • Develop and deliver stewardship service programs for assigned accounts.
    • Gather underwriting information as required and maintain regular communication with the client, fellow team members and/or insurance company partners.
    • Perform various administrative duties which most commonly include greeting and directing clients and/or insurance company partners in person, via e-mail, written communications and on the phone.  Documenting communications within agency management system.
    • Address client questions, concerns, and issues requiring minimal guidance in resolving common to moderately complex situations.  Ensure complex issues are forwarded to the appropriate parties for resolution.
    • Explain, promote and or sell products or services.  Actively pursue referral opportunities for the agency as well as the greater organization.
    • Have or develop working knowledge of various insurance markets and carriers used by the agency.
    • All other duties as assigned.

     

    Required Education, Experience, Skills


    • State of Texas Insurance Licenses –Life-Health
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the insurance industry – or comparable experience
    • Demonstrable understanding of appropriate lines of business –underwriting guidelines and plans.
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Detail oriented.
    • Functional understanding of agency management systems (including rating, Excel and Word)

    • Standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.

    • N/A

     

    Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

    • Office setting
    • Requires travel to client interaction, community events and/or continuing education; valid drivers’ license.
    • Physical requirements for lifting 25 pounds and working with office equipment.
