Job Overview:
We are General Contractor seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in analyzing project specifications, reading plans accurately, communicating with subcontractors and creating accurate cost estimates.
Duties:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Utilize software tools such as Construct Connect to create detailed estimates
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing
- Review and negotiate costs with vendors and subcontractors
- Attend Pre Bid meetings and visit potential project sites for estimating
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices, and techniques
- Proficiency in using estimating software or have the ability to learn new software
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment - Strong Microsoft skills such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
