Develops quality, performance, and safety standards and processes for construction projects and operations. Being a Top Construction Executive manages financial processes like forecasting, estimating, budgeting, and cost control to ensure profitability. Builds effective teams and the capacity to estimate, scope, design, plan, organize and implement construction projects. Additionally, Top Construction Executive represents the organization in discussions and negotiations with clients, contractors, governmental or regulatory officials, and other stakeholders. Identifies risk and implements insurance and risk control strategies. Monitors costs and timelines to deliver projects on time and within budget. Evaluates and implements new or innovative construction methods and systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes. Requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Typically reports to top management.     We are looking for a deadline-driven Civil Construction Superintendent to oversee our construction projects including earthwork, underground utilities, and concrete. We are looking for a superintendent to oversee the operations of a construction site, from planning to completion. A superintendent with heavy equipment experience is a plus. The Superintendent is expected to be responsible for daily scheduling, supervising all activities and tasks, and ensuring the safety and compliance of the site. The Construction Superintendent will also lead and manage the on-site construction team and oversee all work on site. The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for orderliness on site and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Further responsibilities include ensuring quality standards are met, and all equipment and materials are always available on site. The Superintendent is the liaison with inspection authorities regarding approvals.

    This is a working Superintendent position. The Superintendent is expected to work alongside the crew they lead.

    To ensure success the Superintendent should be able to complete projects on time and within budget, and never compromise on quality. Top candidates will be strong leaders, pro-active and perform well under pressure.

    Construction Superintendent Responsibilities:

    • Leading and managing the on-site construction team.
    • Coordinating and overseeing all work on site.
    • Attending production meetings.
    • Reviewing and becoming familiar with the schedule and budget and ensuring adherence to these.
    • Ensuring quality standards are met.
    • Receiving orders of materials and being responsible for the equipment and materials on site.
    • Following the project timeline to ensure deadlines are met.
    • Monitoring and ensuring on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness.
    • Maintaining records for site personnel such as daily field reports, production tracking and correspondence with PM’s.
    • Liaising with inspection authorities regarding approvals.

    Construction Superintendent Requirements:

    • 5 years’ experience as a Construction Superintendent.
    • Proficient with taking and uploading digital photographs.
    • HCSS Experience a Plus
    • Ability to lift 40 pounds and to operate heavy equipment.
    • Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications and other documents.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Outstanding organizational skills.
