    Responsibilities

    Develop and execute strategy for the Consumer Lending Division – 20%

    • Develop effective lending strategies to meet loan production, home equity market share, portfolio yield, and service quality goals.
    • Develop, communicate, execute, and maintain a strategic roadmap for the consumer lending division that enables the division to attain corporate goals.
    • Provide strategic oversight to the annual consumer lending work plan and project backlog to proactively address business needs and opportunities for sales, operations, and servicing.
    • Collaborate closely with key business partners in Marketing & Product Strategy, Technology, ERM & Compliance, Mortgage Lending, and Member Sales & Solutions to meet loan production goals and ensure a competitive consumer loan product offering, including but not limited to product placement, service delivery, rates, fees, and program features.
    • Collaborate with the CIO to select and maintain technology systems which contribute to the success of the organization. Maintain business partner relationships with providers of consumer loan origination system, credit bureau reporting agencies, indirect platforms, and supplemental loan products.
    • Understand member and consumer expectations, the employee experience, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to evaluate, refine, and optimize consumer loan solutions.

    Ownership for Consumer Lending Sales, Service & Member Satisfaction Results – 20%

      • Member Satisfaction – Consumer Channel Survey

    Accountable for Sales & Service Management and Operational Excellence – 20%

    • Cultivate a strong sales and service, high-performance environment that motivates and creates ownership for staff to initiate, build and retain member relationships that optimize value.
    • Continually evaluate sales and service quality by setting, maintaining, and monitoring benchmarks to measure efficiency, accuracy, and leverage current technology systems and processes.
    • Develop and implement individual and departmental performance metrics. Ensure that individual and team performance tracking, reporting, feedback, and celebration occur.
    • Cultivate a culture of innovation, that champions change, and actively seeks feedback from internal and external stakeholders, utilizing new insight and information to improve our products, services, systems, processes, and procedures.
    • Advance the utilization of data and analytics insight as a basis for evidenced-based decision making to improve sales, operations, and the member experience.
    • Apply sound analytical skills, financial judgement, and effective risk management in decision making to achieve desired returns on service and capacity investments.
    • In partnership with key internal stakeholders, utilize knowledge of industry and consumer trends, organizational needs, and marketplace offerings to make vendor selection decisions and establish favorable contract terms. Seek to create greater value for the credit union in subsequent extension and renewal negotiations.
    • Cultivate a productive partnership with our vendors that enables the credit union to fully leverage features and benefits of contracted products and services and understand new offerings for future consideration.
    • Oversee ongoing vendor contract relationships, ensure contract terms are met, and develop processes to assure a high degree of accuracy in vendor invoices and purchase orders.
    • Ensure a high degree of operational excellence with internal controls, regulatory compliance, and audit related matters, providing strategic leadership and guidance to the division.
    • Responsible for the development of and adherence to the area’s annual budget. Work closely with the Consumer management team and Accounting to develop a comprehensive annual budget for the division, including FTE projections.
    • Ensure that member concerns and complaints are promptly addressed, fulfilling all compliance and regulatory requirements. Maintain member contact documentation for the resolution of escalated member issues.

    Credit administration, lending policies and practices, and legal/regulatory requirements – 10%

    • Establish practices, policies, and oversight such that loan quality goals are achieved and lending risks are effectively managed within the scope of responsibilities.
    • Monitor legislation and regulation, collaborating with the Director of ERM and Compliance to ensure loan policies, products, and practices adhere to appropriate legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide strategic direction and guidance in the underwriting and collection of loans to meet corporate goals for delinquency and charge-offs.
    • Ensure division adherence to all aspects of Board Policy B.5.g Lending, Collections and Modification, and make recommendations to update the policy as appropriate.
    • Represent all aspects of the Consumer Loan Division within the ALCO, Audit, Credit Risk, Financial Operations, and other credit union committees as assigned.
    • Act as the primary Consumer Lending Division liaison with credit union examiners and external auditors.

    Senior Management Team Contributions and Cross-functional Leadership – 10%

    • Provide expertise in studying and interpreting relevant lending and credit trends that may impact our business.
    • Understand the current capabilities within the Consumer Lending Division and how it influences other divisions. Develop contingency plans to alleviate potential bottlenecks.
    • As a member of the Senior Management and Leadership Teams, contribute to strategic and annual business planning activities.
    • Work with the Business Initiative (BI) Planning Team to ensure a high degree of alignment, organizational impact, and business initiatives are appropriately resourced.
    • Understand the role and interrelationship of key partners, leveraging the expertise in Marketing & Product Strategy, E-Commerce, Data & Analytics and Operations Team divisions to achieve shared goals and priorities.
    • Engage internal partners to inform and advocate for resources and commitment to support the design and development of new products, product enhancements, and/or operational process improvements.
    • Collaborate closely with the Accounting and Treasury functions to ensure a high degree of alignment in pursuit of organization financial goals related to Consumer Lending.
    • Participate in strategic projects and initiatives across functional and organizational lines.
    • Collaborate, contribute, and communicate for the success of the team.
    • Perform additional job-related responsibilities as scheduled or requested.

    Qualifications

    • 10 years’ experience in Leadership positions of increasing responsibility.
    • 10 years Financial Institution experience required.
    • Bachelor’s degree required. Master of Business Administration preferred.
    • Demonstrate inclusive leadership and the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse
    • In-depth understanding of strategic and annual business planning
    • Strong customer service orientation, human relations skills, and emotional
    • Ability to develop strong productive partnerships with management, employees, corporate staff, and external business
